Terms of Service
The terms that apply to our website, trainings, workshops and events.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website slsdbd.com (the “Website”) and your registration for and participation in trainings, workshops, online sessions, coaching, events and other services (together, the “Services”) provided by the Society for Leadership Skills Development (“SLSD”, “we”, “us”). By using the Website or registering for a Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are registering on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. Use of the Website
You may use the Website for lawful, personal and business information purposes. You agree not to:
- use the Website in any way that breaches applicable laws or regulations;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its servers or related systems;
- introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material;
- submit false, misleading or offensive information through our forms;
- use automated tools to scrape, copy or send bulk messages through the Website;
- impersonate SLSD, our trainers or any other person or organization.
We aim to keep the Website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that information (including program dates and prices) will always be current. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Website without notice.
3. Programs, registrations and confirmation
Information about programs on the Website is an invitation to enquire, not a binding offer. A registration becomes confirmed when we send you written confirmation (by email or letter) and, for public workshops, when payment has been received or a purchase order has been accepted. For in-house programs, the agreed proposal, purchase order or contract forms the agreement between SLSD and the client organization, and its specific terms take precedence over these Terms where they differ.
Public workshops run subject to a minimum number of participants. Program content, sequence and examples may be adjusted by the trainer to meet the needs of the group, while keeping the stated learning objectives.
4. Fees and payment
- All prices are quoted in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) unless otherwise stated and are exclusive of VAT and other applicable taxes, which will be added where required by law.
- Public workshop fees are payable in full before the program start date unless otherwise agreed in writing. The fee normally includes training materials, refreshments and lunch for full-day in-person sessions and a certificate of participation.
- In-house program fees are invoiced according to the agreed proposal, typically 50% on confirmation and 50% after delivery, payable within 15 days of the invoice date.
- Group discounts, early-registration offers and concessions cannot be combined unless stated otherwise.
- We reserve the right to change published prices at any time; changes do not affect confirmed registrations.
5. Cancellations, transfers and refunds
5.1 Cancellation by participants (public workshops)
| Notice given before the start date | Refund |
|---|---|
| 7 days or more | Full refund, or free transfer to a later date |
| 3 to 6 days | 50% refund, or transfer to a later date for a 10% administration fee |
| Less than 3 days, or no-show | No refund; materials will be provided where possible |
You may send a substitute participant from the same organization at any time before the program at no extra cost; please inform us of the substitute’s name in advance. Cancellation requests must be made in writing to [email protected].
5.2 Cancellation of in-house programs
Unless otherwise agreed in the contract, if a client postpones or cancels a confirmed in-house program, the following charges apply: more than 14 days’ notice — no charge (costs already incurred for venues or materials may be invoiced); 7–14 days’ notice — 25% of the program fee; less than 7 days’ notice — 50% of the program fee.
5.3 Cancellation or changes by SLSD
We may need to reschedule or cancel a program because of insufficient registrations, trainer illness, force majeure events or circumstances beyond our control. In such cases we will notify you as early as possible and offer a transfer to another date or a full refund of fees paid to SLSD. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs incurred by participants, so we recommend making flexible arrangements.
Refunds are processed within 30 days to the original payment method or by bank transfer.
6. Participant conduct
Our programs depend on mutual respect and a safe learning environment. Participants agree to:
- arrive on time and participate actively and respectfully;
- respect the confidentiality of personal experiences and organizational information shared by others during sessions (“what is said in the room stays in the room”);
- refrain from harassment, discrimination, abusive language or disruptive behaviour;
- follow venue rules and health and safety instructions;
- not record sessions without the trainer’s permission.
We may ask a participant whose behaviour seriously disrupts the program or endangers others to leave, without refund.
7. Certificates
A certificate of participation is issued to participants who attend at least 80% of the program. Certified programs (such as the SLSD School of Emotional Intelligence program) may have additional assessment requirements, which will be communicated at enrolment. Certificates confirm participation and, where applicable, completion of assessment; they are not academic degrees or government licences.
8. Online sessions
For live online programs, participants are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection and the required meeting software. We will provide joining instructions in advance. Technical issues on the participant’s side do not entitle a refund, but we will try to provide recordings or materials where available. Participants must not share joining links with people who are not registered.
9. Intellectual property
All content on the Website and all program materials — including workbooks, slides, models (such as the SLSD VIP-Model of leadership), exercises, assessments, videos, logos and the SLSD name — are owned by SLSD or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
- Participants may use program materials for their own personal learning and internal use within their organization.
- You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, adapt or use our materials to deliver training to others without our prior written permission.
- You may share links to our articles and quote brief extracts with clear attribution to SLSD and a link to the source page.
Photographs on the Website are either SLSD’s own images or licensed stock photographs used under the terms of their providers.
10. Disclaimer
Our programs, articles and other content are designed to support personal and professional development. They are provided for educational and informational purposes and do not constitute legal, financial, medical, psychological or other professional advice. Results from training depend on many factors — including individual effort, organizational support and application on the job — and we cannot guarantee specific outcomes such as promotions, sales increases or business results.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- SLSD is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or data, arising from your use of the Website or the Services;
- our total liability to you in connection with any Service is limited to the fees you paid to SLSD for that Service;
- we are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of third-party websites linked from the Website.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
12. Force majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, floods, cyclones, pandemics, government restrictions, strikes or hartals, civil unrest, power or internet outages, or the unavailability of venues. In such cases we will offer to reschedule the Service or deliver it online where possible.
13. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and our use of browser storage and cookies in our Cookie Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Website at the time of your registration applies to that registration. Continued use of the Website after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve any concern amicably. If a dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
16. General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to a successor organization.
